Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting held on 8TH
March 2021 at Gedney Drove End Village Hall, commencing at 7.00pm.
Chaired by Cllr R Rollings
Also present: District Cllr J Reynolds, County Cllr
Coupland, Mrs J Ripley Parish Clerk and 6 members of the public.
1. The Chairman welcomed all present.
2. The minutes of last year’s meeting held on 9th
March 2021 were taken as read and were accepted as minutes.
3. The Chairman gave a report on council activities during
the past year:
We have experienced another difficult year with the
government deciding in April that no
more Meetings could be held on Zoom, so
meetings had to be held in the open or in our Village Halls because of this
ruling we decided on fewer meetings.
The projects we hope to complete have all been implemented.

Adult gym equipment W.M.P
New litter bins W.M.P which will now be emptied by grass
cutters
The Queen Mother Nature Reserve has new picnic tables,
Fencing, a height restriction bar and hardstanding has been installed at the
entrance.
Mr Alan Hargreaves has kindly planted 2 trees .
There is a new stone plaque in the cemetery garden of
remembrance.
We have also installed a new Notice Board in Gedney, paid
for by Wind Farm grant funding.
The defibrillators at the 3 Village halls are checked weekly

Thanks also to Mark for Maintaining and Moving the Passive Speed Watch Signs between
the Villages.
We are still waiting for the 20mph. At Gedney Drove End
School to be erected.( Now 2 Years)
Footpaths both sides of the road where Main Road joins Marsh
Road and Dawsmere Road,
and The Dyke in Dawsmere Road to be cleaned and levelled.
The Problem of Speeding Traffic in Gedney Dyke was raised at
a Public Meeting. Our Clerk was asked to write to all Farmers in the area and
ask them to moderate the speed of their lorries and tractors, this was done .
Speed cameras at each end of the village Plus 20 mph. Signs were also requested
these have not materialized as yet.
A sign was requested by residents living around The Green in
Gedney Dyke to ask people not to park on the edge of the grass , this was
erected, ,but has been removed (Not by The Council)
Thanks once again to our Clerk Jane for the great job she
does for us and the community and to
our District councillor Jo Reynolds for all her help and funding which means with her help and the
grants from the Wind Farm we have not had to take money from the precept to
fund any projects.
We have not had to raise the precept this year.
Many thanks also to
my fellow councillors for their input, let’s hope we can get back to normal
this year.

4. Financial Report from the Clerk to the Council & RFO.
For the
financial year 2021-2022 the total income for Gedney Parish Council is expected
to be in the region of £60,000.00 with expenditure estimated at £58,000.00.
The Precept for the year was £40,000.00.
Other income has been generated from £12,800.00 of grant
funding, Cemetery fees at £3430.00, Allotment rents at £3900.00 with bank
interest at £3.00.
The Accounts for the previous year were signed off by the
internal and external Auditors and the notice displayed for the required period
on the Parish Web Site.
All Parish Council Finance information is available on the
Council Web site.
5. Topics for discussion:
Queens Platinum Jubilee :
A meeting was held at GDE hall last
week with 5vpeople in attendance, another is planned for next week in the hope
that more volunteers attend.
Christmas Trees for the Villages:
This item was put forward by a
resident of Gedney Dyke, but they are not in attendance and have sent no
information.

Streetlights- PC to deal
A pathway between lines of graves in
Dawsmere Cemetery, this would be at a cost of approximately £5000 to £6000 plus
ongoing maintenance due to sinkage – will be put on PC agenda.
