Cemetery Renewal Policy

EXCLUSIVE RIGHT OF BURIAL/MEMORIAL RENEWAL PROCEDURE

1. As per Dawsmere Cemetery Rules and Regulations it is the responsibility of the Exclusive Rights owner/successor to renew the rights and to inform the Parish Clerk of any changes of address/information.

10. EXCLUSIVE RIGHT OF BURIAL

When an Exclusive Right of Burial/Memorial Rights is acquired, the full name and address of the purchaser must be supplied. Purchasers shall not dispose of their rights without the consent of the Council.

Exclusive Rights are granted for a period of 25 years, it is the responsibility of the exclusive Rights owner/successor to renew this each 25 years. Also, to inform the Parish Clerk of any changes of address.

2. Should the Exclusive Rights not have been renewed by the December of the due year; the Council will send a renewal pack by recorded delivery to the last known address on file.

3. Should the Exclusive Rights of reserved plots still not be renewed, one more reminder letter will be sent by recorded delivery to the last known address on file, giving the recipient until the end of April in the following year to renew or contact the Council in writing.

4. Should no written communication be received by this date the plot will return to the Councils ownership, be deemed vacant and available for sale.
